Kishori Pednekar

Kishori Pednekar (IAST:Kiśōrī Pēḍaṇēkara) (25 December 1962) is an Indian politician serving as the current Mayor of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation,[2][3][4][5][6] which is India‘s richest municipal corporation.[7][8] She was elected as Mayor without any opposition.[9] She worked as a nurse earlier on and once again in 2020, this time to motivate other healthcare workers during COVID-19 pandemic.[10][11]

Kishori was born in middle class family belonging to Worli Naka, Mumbai. She is a nurse by profession

She joined Shiv Sena after her marriage. She became corporator in 2002 from Lower Parel area in Mumbai.[12][13]

  • 2002: Elected as corporator in Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (Ward No 52)[14][15]
  • 2012: Re-elected as corporator in Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (Ward 191)[16][17][18]
  • 2017: Re-Elected as corporator in Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (Ward 199).[19][20]
